In pictures: the Friday Prayer and a sit-in to support the prisoners in the tent of Silwan
The locals of Silwan organized on Friday the Friday Noon Prayer and a sit-in to support the prisoners undergoing the hunger strike in the tent of Silwan within the activities organized by the locals of Silwan in solidarity with the prisoners. The locals of Silwan have launched activities last Wednesday to support the prisoners and several residents joined the hunger strike in addition to organizing sit-ins at the tent of Silwan. Dozens of locals participated in the prayer in addition to Ahmad Rweidi, advisor of Jerusalem Affairs in the office of the President; Sheikh Ali Abu Sheikha, Dr Jamal Amro, the president of Prisoner’s Club in Jerusalem, Naser Qos; director of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, Amjad Abu Asab; member of the committee, Ala’ Haddad and representatives from several organizations in Silwan. Sheikh Raed Fathi talked about the prisoners’ hunger strike during his speech and their heroic battle to serve their community, and stressed on the importance of supporting the prisoners in their just case. During the sit-in, families of Jerusalemite prisoners talked about their sons who are imprisoned in the occupation prisons and requested the world to quickly interfere to save the lives of the prisoners who have been on a hunger strike for a long time and provide them with a decent life until they are released.
