June 10, 2014

The Israeli forces assaulted several Jerusalemites and sprayed them with pepper gas in addition to verbally abusing them when they attempted to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque through Al-Majles Gate. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli forces stationed at Al-Aqsa Gates are provoking the Marabouts and the children of the summer camps as they attempt to enter Al-Aqsa and force them to leave their IDs at the Gates in addition to verbally abusing them. Witnesses added that dozens of citizens were gathered near Al-Majles Gate and the Israeli forces sprayed them with pepper gas and also sprayed employees of the Islamic Awqaf. The forces imposed strict restrictions on the children of the summer camps and prevented many of them from entering Al-Aqsa despite the fact that they are young. After the Noon Prayer, dozens of worshippers carried out a sit-in near Dung Gate inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque to condemn the daily restrictions imposed on their entrance to Al-Aqsa, and requested to be allowed to enter without any restrictions of harassment; they also condemned the transferring of their Ids to Al-Qishleh police center and detaining them for days resulting in the prevention of entering Al-Aqsa. The Israeli forces arrested the 38-year old Abdulrahman Sharif and extended his arrest until Wednesday on charges of obstructing the police work.
