Sentencing Eyad Abu Sara for actual imprisonment of 40 months
The District court in Jerusalem sentenced the 24-year old Jerusalemite prisoner Eyad Khalil Mahmoud Abu Sara for actual imprisonment of 40 months after he was convicted of several charges. The head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, Amjad Abu Asab, explained that the occupation forces arrested Eyad on 24/12/2013 and transferred him to Al-Maskobyeh where he was exposed to long and harsh interrogation. They accused him of membership in the International Jihad Organization and planning several attacks against the American Embassy and Al-Umma buildings in addition to planning to open fire at busses and communicating with officials from Al-Qaida in Gaza through “Facebook” and “Skype”. The Israeli media and through the intelligence heavily promoted the arrest member of the cell in order to accuse Gaza of harboring members o Al-Qaida as well as to pressure the U.S. side that Al-Qaida in the Gaza Strip is planning to blow up the headquarters of the Embassy . After holding several sessions in the District court, the lawyer was able to refute most of the charges that are originally baseless. It is noteworthy that Eyad is married and has one daughter and suffers from several diseases, including arthritis and he needs major health care.
