The employees of the Nature and Parks Authority and protected by the Special Forces raided on Wednesday morning the neighbourhood of Wadi Hilweh in Silwan and took pictures of its streets, alleys and houses. The staff of Wadi Hilweh Information Center said that the employees and Special Forces took general pictures of Wadi Hilweh and then moved to the streets and entrances of neighbourhoods where the raided the house of Al-Malhi family and took pictures of the outside courtyard of the house. The employees complained about raiding poultry in the garden of the house without a permit and claimed that the land is owned by the Nature and Parks Authority. They also broke into the house of Jalajel family who are doing some work in the infrastructure to install water pipes after a supporting wall collapsed due to Israeli excavations underneath the houses in the area, and the Nature and Parks Authority complained about the works being done although the so-called Antiquities Authority and municipality came to the area several times and supervised the works or renovating the supporting wall. The residents of Wadi Hilweh pointed out that the raid carried out by the Nature and Parks Authority on Wednesday came after an employee of “Elad” organization, Shlomo, filmed the whole neighbourhoods and told the residents: “Every time after Shlomo comes, the Nature and parks Authority or the municipality will come.”
