Clashes in Al-Aqsa…injuries and arrests
July 1, 2014

Clashes broke out on Tuesday morning inside Al-Aqsa Mosque when settlers broke in through Dung Gate under heavy protection from the police. Witnesses said that several settlers broke into Al-Aqsa in a provocative way at times when the Israeli police prevented men and women from entering Al-Aqsa. The forces fired rubber bullets towards the young men during the clashes and injured two young men in the neck; note that they were transferred to Al-Aqsa clinics for treatment. Dr. Ziad Sroor from Al-Aqsa clinics said that two young men were admitted to the clinics for treatment after suffering injuries in the neck. Witnesses also explained that the police closed Al-Aqsa Gates except for Lions, Al-Majles and Al-Silsileh Gates and only allowed men above the age of 50 to enter and prevented young men, women and children from entering Al-Aqsa. The police stationed inside Al-Aqsa arrested a 12-year old child and another young man and evacuated three young men from inside Al-Aqsa courtyards.
