16 Jerusalemites were arrested on Thursday…extensions of arrest and releases
The Israeli authorities continue their series of arrests in all of the Jerusalemite neighborhoods following the clashes that broke out after the Martyrdom of Mohammad Abu Khdeir as he was kidnapped and burnt alive by the settlers. The Israeli authorities arrested on Thursday early morning several young men and children from the neighborhood of Al-Sowaneh, Shu’fat, Um Tuba and Al-Thori in Silwan. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud from Al-Dameer organization and lawyer Odeh Zbeidan said that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of 8 Jerusalemites that were arrested on Thursday. They are: Mohammad Abu Ter (minor), Karim Abu Ter and Ehab Abu Ter from Um Tuba; note that the judge decided to release them but the public prosecution appealed the judge’s decision and another session was held at the District court on Friday. The judge also extended the arrest of Hasan Abu Khdeir and Saeed Abu Ta’a until Friday and Seif Jaber, Khader Ammouri, Sami Jaber, Sufian Jaber and Abdelsalam Issa from Shu’fat a until Monday, and also extended the arrest of Karim Abu Khdeir and Fathi Shawish until 24/07/2014 which is when the so-called conduct officer will release his report. The judge also extended the arrest of Yousef Marrish until Sunday; note that an indictment was submitted against him but the evidence will be challenged by the defense lawyer. In a related matter, the Magistrate court judge released Samer Ghateet, Ahmad Abu Khdeir, Samah Sarhan and Khaldoun Sarhan with a third-party bail and also released Issa Ala’ Eddin and Samer Mahmoud without conditions. On the other hand, a session to appeal the sentence against the 15-year old Mohammad Jaber was held on Thursday and the 5-month prison sentence was cancelled and substituted with a 150-hour course. Lawyer ad Hidmi, the lawyer of the International movement to defend children, Ziad Hidmi, said that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of the child Mahmoud Abu Khdeir until 22/07/2014 until the so-called conduct officer release his report and discuss the possibility of releasing him with conditions. He added that the judge decided to release the 15-year old Ahmad Salhab with a 500-NIS bail and house arrest in addition to isolating him to Jabal Al-Mukabber. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that that the Magistrate court judge extended the arrest of Mousa Jamil Qadamani and Wahbeh Makki until Sunday; note that they are from Al-Sowaneh. The Israeli forces had arrested Daoud Samir Abu Sbitan, Mahdi Mohammad Abulhawa and Ahmad Mohammad Abulhawa from Al- Tur, and arrested Mohammad Barakat, Khaled Shweiki and Mohammad Shweiki from Al-Thori. Arrests in Al-Wad Street Wadi Hilweh Center was also informed that the Israeli forces arrested 21 Jerusalemites in the past week from Al-Wad Street. Among the detainees were: Sharaf Za’tari, Louai Za’tari, Nour Al-Nables, Islam Nabulsi, Abdullah Julani, Omar Julani, Ibrahim Julani, Fayez Baytouni, Ibrahim Baytouni, Ahmad Agha, Mohammad Agha, Mohammad Safadi, Mahmoud Ma’bad, Abdel Mulazem, Mohammad Mulazem, Walid Risheq, Sami Batsh, Tarek Idris and Hasan Abu Asab.
