Arresting seven Jerusalemites from Al-Tur and Silwan
The Israeli forces arrested six Jerusalemites from the neighborhoods of Al-Tur and Silwan on Friday night. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Musta’ribeen (undercover) unit arrested two children from Silwan - Upper Al-Ein- and took them to the police center; note that clashes renewed in the neighborhoods of Silwan. The forces also arrested four young men from the neighborhood of Al-Tur; Majdi Hidra, Louai and Hani Al-Sayyad were among those arrested. The Musta’ribeen raided the neighborhood of Al-Sowaneh in an attempt to arrest the young men during the clashes but failed to do so. Clashes also broke out in the village of Esawyeh in which the forces used live ammunition. Assaulting a child from Al-Tur and arresting him In a related matter, the Israeli forces arrested on Friday afternoon the 13-year old Mohammad Ahmad Abulhawa while he was in the main street in Al-Tur. Mohammad’s father explained that his son left his home heading to his grandfather’s house on Friday afternoon. A military vehicle stopped and called Mohammad to approach them. The child got scared and tried to run but the forces were able to catch him and arrest him under the pretext of throwing stones in Ras Al-Amoud. During the arrest, Mohammad was assaulted and the forces slammed his head and body with the walls causing him wounds in his hand and headaches. The father added that the forces took Mohammad along with one of his relatives in the military vehicle to Ras Al-Amoud where they had pictures of him throwing stones. He was then released with no conditions under the pretext of not filing a claim against his arrest and assault.
