Clashes in Esawyeh and suspending schools in Jabal Al-Mukabber

Clashes broke out on Monday morning in the village of Esawyeh and schools were suspended all over the area of Jabal Al-Mukabber. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that clashes broke out in the village of Esawyeh to condemn the closure of the village’s main entrance at 11 p.m. on Sunday night. Israeli forces were stationed at the entrance of the village on Monday morning and were stopping people and randomly issuing tickets. According to Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of the follow-up committee, the streets of the village witnessed heavy traffic in the morning when students, employees and workers were heading to their schools and workplaces. The Israeli forces arrested the members of students’ families’ committee in Jabal Al-Mukabber Mahmoud Eweisat and Omar Eweisat and they brought back the director of the elementary girls’ school back to the school to practice her work as usual. According to head of the students’ families’ committee in Jabal Al-Mukabber, Abdelkarim Lafi, the well-known figures and locals of Jabal Al-Mukabber announced suspending all school on Monday until the committee’s members are released and director is dismissed because of a financial fraud against her which was also confirmed by the municipality and the Ministry of Education after two years of investigations.
