November 5, 2014

The 48-year Jerusalemite Ibrahim Mohammad Daoud Akari passed away on Wednesday afternoon after being directly shot by the Israeli forces in his chest, neck and head. Witnesses said that the Jerusalemites man who was driving a commercial vehicle (White Ford Transit) attacked the train station in “Shimon” Street in Sheikh Jarrah and injured several Israelis and then left his car and attacked the passers-by with an iron bar and was then shot by the Israeli borders police. Witnesses explained that the police shot Ibrahim from zero distance after he left his car and was attacking the settlers. Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the occupation police informed him that the Martyr’s body will be given to his family in order to be buried in Anata but the family insisted on burying him in Jerusalem. A court session was held at the Magistrate court and the judge refused the police’s request to bury him in Anata and agreed to the family’s request to bury him in Lions’ Gate cemetery. The judge decided to give the family their son’s body between 11:30 and 12:30 on Wednesday night and to carry out the funeral with the presence of only 35 people.
