First time footage…clashes inside Al-Qibali Mosque
The Israeli forces broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday morning and broke into Al-Qibali Mosque for the first time where violent clashes broke out.
The Islamic Awqaf Department said that armed Israeli forces broke into Al-Qibali Mosque and heavily fired tear gas and sound grenades in addition to rubber bullets towards the Marabouts who were protecting the Mosque from the continuous settlers’ break-ins. Al-Awqaf added that the soldiers stepped with their shoes on the carpets of the Mosque and were deployed inside it. The forces broke into Al-Aqsa around 8:30 a.m. through Al-Silsileh and Dung Gates and heavily fired grenades and rubber bullets inside its courtyards and attacked the Muslim worshippers present the Mosque who were mostly older men.
The forces were then stationed at the gate of Al-Qibali Mosque and entered it through Al-Jana’ez gate.
The forces closed most of Al-Aqsa Gates except for Hutta, Al-Majles and Al-Silsileh Gates and prevented all Muslims from entering including the Al-Aqsa students. They also prevented Al-Awqaf employees from entering and then allowed them after making some calls.
Muslims under the age of 50 were prevented from performing the Dawn Prayer and the forces detained the IDs of all women entering Al-Aqsa.
Clashes broke out at Al-Aqsa Gates especially Hutta and Lions Gates and in the cemetery of Bab Al-Rahmeh and the forces fired sound grenades and rubber bullets to disperse the Marabouts present at the Gates.
Al-Aqsa guards said that two young men were severely injured in the head and one of them was transferred to the hospital two hours later since the forces prevented the medical crews from entering Al-Aqsa.
The forces deliberately damaged the contents of Al-Qibali Mosque while they were inside it. They Israeli Special Forces arrested Tarek Hashlamon who is an employee of Al-Awqaf and assaulted him inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and several settlers attacked him while exiting through Al-Silsileh Gate.
They also arrested Hussam Sider who is also an employee of the Islamic Awqaf and transferred him to Salah Eddin police station.
The police also said that they rested two young men and one child in Sultan Suleiman Street, and the forces arrested the 20-year old Omar Kilani, the 26-year old Ami Qirresh, one child and one young man during the clashes in Bab Hutta.
