Extensions of arrest…releases

The Magistrate court judge extended on Sunday the arrest of several young men and children on charges of participating in the ongoing clashes in the city of Jerusalem. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud from Al-Dameer organization and lawyer Mufeed Al-Hajj from the Prisoner’s Club defended the detainees. The judge extended the arrest of Samah Sarhan, Mohammad Syouri (minor), Ali Abu Thiab, Mansour Shyoukhi, Mouath Shyoukhi, Anan Julani (minor), Mahmoud Hadyeh, Ala’ Ashhab and Sufian Gheith. The judge extended the arrest of Ahmad Al-Razem, Mu’ath Al-Razem, Ala’ Al-Razem and Mohammad Dandis until Tuesday in order to submit indictments against them, and also extended the arrest of Omar Abulhawa, Mohammad Salaymeh and Mohammad Abu Shameh until Tuesday. The judge decided to release Raed Murrar and Sharif Abu Mayaleh with a 1000-NIS financial bail, house arrest for 5 days and a third-party bail. The judge also extended the arrest of Mohammad Abu Sbitan until 8/12/2014 for sentencing. In a related matter, lawyer Mahmoud said that the judge decided on Sunday to cancel all the indictments submitted against the 16-year old Sajed Salaymeh because of health problems that prohibit sentencing him; note that he was arrested for 5 days and was then released. The judge also extended the arrest of the minor Ahmad Yousef Abu Khdeir and Abdulrahman Odat Allah.
