November 11, 2014

The Israeli police released on Tuesday night Mustafa Siam after arresting, assaulting and severely beating him during a raid conducted in the neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh in Silwan. Siam was injured with several bruises and wounds in his face, neck, back and hands. Siam explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that a force from the Special Forces raided his uncle’s house in the neighborhood to search it. The officer asked where the house of Amin Siam is and Mustafa told him and walked with them in the neighborhood. After arriving to the house, the forces pulled Mustafa and assaulted him using the butts of their guns and their batons. Siam added that the forces pulled him in the street of Wadi Hilweh and hit him and then took him to Salah Eddin Street police station and Al-Maskobyeh; he was released after being interrogated for several hours in Salah Eddin station. Siam pointed out that the police accused him of “assaulting policemen and obstructing their work” and released him with a personal bail and a third-party bail until the court date. Siam refused the charges against him and said that he was assaulted for no reason and he was accompanying the forces upon the request of their officer; Siam confirmed that he will file a claim against the police personnel to the “Mahash” unit.
