Esawyeh: A march against the continuous Israeli violations
November 12, 2014

The follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh organized a march on Wednesday against the policy of “collective punishment” in Jerusalem and the residents of Esawyeh along with supporters and representatives from legal organizations and students from the Hebrew University participated in the march. The Special Forces and the wastewater vehicle were stationed at the entrance of the village and prevented the participants from entering the village through its main entrance. Mohammad Abu Hummus, member of the follow-up committee, explained that the march on Wednesday was to condemn the closure of the village’s entrances (northern and southern) which obstruct the movement of the residents and causes severe traffic jams especially in the morning when students head to their schools and workers head to their jobs. Mohammad pointed out that the entrance near the Hebrew University has been close for three months and the main entrance has been closed for one week. Abu Hummus condemned the arrest policy and use of excessive force against the detainees especially the minors, and also condemned the random use of expired tear gas grenades and wastewater which the forces deliberately spray it towards the houses and cars.
