Releasing two women after detaining them for several hours
The Israeli police released two women from the city of Akko on Wednesday night after arresting them as they were exiting Al-Aqsa Mosque and detaining them in Al-Qishleh police center. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the 36-year old Asmahan Ali and the 62-year old Zeinab Aswad from the city of Akko were arrested as they were leaving Al-Aqsa Mosque. The police took them to Al-Silsileh Gate police station and then to Al-Qishleh station and accused them of carrying out "acts of prejudice to public safety” and “violating the freedom of access to holy places”. Lawyer Hamzeh Qutteineh said that the two women were interrogated for several hours and were then released with no conditions and pointed out that Asmahan was transferred to the hospital for treatment after losing consciousness during the interrogation.
