The Municipality’s court impose a fine or actual imprisonment on Ahmad Siam
The occupation’s municipality imposed a fine of 20 thousand NIS on the 57-year old Ahmad Mahmoud Mohammad Siam or actual imprisonment for 100 days under the pretext of building without a permit.
Siam explained that he was surprised by the municipality’s decision and explained that the building has been established since 1995 and consists of one residential apartment in the neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh in Silwan.
He added that he was fined more than 100 thousand NIS throughout the last several years for building without a permit and said that the municipality’s court imposed actual imprisonment on him for 100 days six months ago and was then changed to 100 hours of public service.
He pointed out that he tried to obtain a permit for his apartment but to no avail.
The municipality also fined several commercials in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan for not paying the taxes. Among those affected was Hajj Mustafa Abu Tayeh who was fined 2500 NIS.
The Special Forces raided the house of Ata Abu Tayeh and searched it.
