Demolishing the house of Ishaq Mustafa Hamdan in the village of Esawyeh
December 1, 2014

The bulldozers of the occupation’s municipality demolished on Monday morning the house of Ishaq Mustafa Hamdan in the village of Esawyeh under the pretext of building without a permit. The house which is still under construction is 200 square meters that Hamdan started building two years ago after his house was previously demolished in the same location. Hamdan wanted to build a house where he can live with his family of eight members but the occupation’s municipality continued harassing him under the pretext of building on lands that are classified “green” where construction is prohibited despite the fact that the land is owned by Hamdan. The member of the follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh explained that clashes broke out in the middle of the village during the demolition process. Hamdan has been arrested for two months under the pretext of “accumulation of debt (fines)” to the Israeli authorities. The forces also assaulted the people who were close by the house of Hamdan and fired rubber bullets towards then and injured one young man in his stomach; they also assaulted the women and pushed them from the demolition site.
