Throwing a gas grenade inside the house of the prisoner Salim Jo’beh in the neighborhood of Al-Thori
The Israeli forces fired a gas grenade on Sunday night towards the house of the prisoner Salim Jo’beh in the neighborhood of Al-Thori in Silwan. Salim’s wife, Um Khaled, explained that a Special Force raided one of the neighborhoods of Al-Thori around 8:30 p.m. when there were no clashes in the area and her 2-year old son Khaled and his 6-year old cousin Ahmad were in the balcony of their house which is on the fifth floor of a residential building and that was when one of the force individuals pointed his gun towards the balcony. Jo’beh added: “I was scared and immediately let the two children go inside the house but Khaled went back on the balcony and that was when one soldier fired a gas grenade towards our house that broke the windows of our living room and burnt part of the sofa and the curtains.” She explained that the Israeli forces fired a gas grenade towards the building two days ago and fired a rubber bullet at the family’s car in the afternoon hours and broke the headlights. The locals of Al-Thori complain about the daily raids carried out by the Israeli forces and the mobile checkpoints that they establish especially in the morning hours and around noon when the school students are in the streets.
