Extending the arrest of the child Mohammad Abdelsalam Abdo

The Israeli forces arrested the 12-year old Mohammad Abdelsalam Abdo on Tuesday night while he was standing in front of his house in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber. Wadi Hilweh Information Center as informed by the child’s mother that Special Forces arrested her son while he was near the family’s house. She heard screams and the sound of grenades and when she went outside, the neighbors told her that the forces arrested her son Mohammad. She added: “the forces prevented me from following Mohammad to the police center and they pushed me and threatened to fire rubber bullets towards me. They asked me to bring my personal ID and meanwhile he was taken to Jabal Al-Mukabber police center.” She continued: “the forces told me that my son will be transferred to Al-Maskobyeh detention center.” Two hours after the arrest, the mother was still waiting to go inside and attend her son’s interrogation. Witnesses said that 9 Special Forces individuals brutally assaulted the child Mohammad before arresting him. The Israeli police extended on Tuesday night the arrest of Mohammad until Wednesday and he was interrogated in Jabal Al-Mukabber and was then transferred to Al-Maskobyeh. The Center was informed by the lawyer Lee’a Tsimil that the child was injured in his leg with a rubber bullet that was fired at him during the arrest; he was also assaulted and severely beaten while being in the police car.
