Settlers try to launch a plane above Al-Aqsa Mosque…and arresting Marabouts after assaulting them
Three settlers (one man and two women) launched an electric plane above the eastern side of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday morning, and the employees of the Islamic Awqaf were able to stop the plane from flying above Al-Aqsa Mosque. Witnesses said that one of employees of the construction department was working near the eastern side of the Mosque and noticed a plane flying only meters away from the eastern wall of Al-Aqsa. He immediately informed the guards who rushed to see the plane and made the necessary call; the police stopped the settlers. An hour later, the guards were surprised when the settlers tried to launch the plane again and the necessary officials were informed. More than 140 settlers broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday in addition to 8 Intelligence personnel. They carried out a tout into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and the settlers pushed one photographer near Al-Silsileh Gate which led to the break-out of clashes and verbal altercation with the Marabouts. The Israeli forces arrested on Thursday the photographer Abdulafo Zghayyar, Latifeh Abdellatif and Tamer Shala’ta; note that the settlers assaulted a group of Jerusalemites who are isolated from Al-Aqsa Mosque while they were near Al-Silsileh Gate. The forces also arrested Shadi Essawi and the 14-year old student Wasim Shawish while he was heading to his school in Al-Tur.
