The child Mohammad Yousef Burqan is shot by a settler while herding his sheep
The 17-year old Jerusalemite Mohammad Yousef Burqan was injured in his leg after an Israeli settler shot hit while he was herding his sheep in the neighborhood of Wad Yasool in Silwan. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed by the 16-year old eyewitness Suhaib Burqan that they (Suhaib and Mohammad) were in the neighborhood of Wad Yasool and specifically between Jabal Al-Mukabber and Al-Thori and were herding the sheep. When Suhaib went home to use the restroom, he heard gunshots. He hurried back to the mountain and found Mohammad lying on the ground and a group of settlers were surrounding him and one was holding a gun. Suhaib said: “I left school early and went with my cousin Mohammad to herd the sheep but I went home to use the restroom and heard gunshots. I headed back to the area and found Mohammad lying on the ground.” Suhaib added: “I tried to step forward and check on Mohammad but one settler pointed his gun towards me and threatened to shoot if I move any closer, and the rest of the settlers were verbally insulting me.” He continued: “My brother came to the area along with his friend and the settlers ran away and we managed to transfer Mohammad to the hospital.” One of Mohammad’s relatives explained that Mohammad lost consciousness after being shot by the settlers. Mohammad’s father explained that his son suffered fractures in his leg due to the bullet and is currently undergoing the necessary check-ups.
