March 26, 2015

The occupation authorities released on Thursday night the 28-year old Safa’ Dmeiri, the wife of the Jerusalemite prisoner Ramzi Dmeiri, after she was detained for four days. Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the District judge in Beer Sheva released Safa’ and imposed house-arrest on her at her father’s house in the village of Anata in addition to imposing a 15-thousand NIS bail on her. The judge also made Dmeiri’s brothers sign a 40-thousand NIS bail and guarantee that their sister will abide by the terms of the release; note a session was scheduled for her on 12/4/2015. Safa’ was arrested last Monday while visiting her husband at Eshel prison in Beer Sheva. The police accused her of smuggling a “SIM Card” to her husband and detained her along with her 2-year old daughter for several hours until her father came from Jerusalem and took the little girl from the police center in Beer Sheva. Safa’ has five children where the oldest is 10 and the youngest is 2 years old. She is from the neighborhood of Al-Thori and her husband has been imprisoned for five months; note that he was transferred to isolation cells on the day of the incident.
