Transferring Abdelrahim Abbasi to administrative arrest
The Israeli Minister of Defense issued on Friday morning an order to transfer the 30-year old Abdelrahim Khalil Abbasi to administrative arrest for 3 months. Mohammad Mahmoud, Al-Dameer organization lawyer, explained that the Minister of Defense issued an order to transfer his client Abbasi to administrative arrest until 27/6/2015; a session will be held on Monday at the District court to approve the administrative arrest. The lawyer added that Abdelrahim Abbasi was arrested on 30/3/2015 after the Israeli forces raided his house in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan and transferred him to Al-Maskobyeh police center in West Jerusalem. He was interrogated on charges of throwing stones; note that a session was held for him on Thursday and the judge extended his arrest until Sunday but the administrative arrest decision was suddenly issued on Friday morning. Abdelrahim Abbasi is a freed prisoner who was previously arrested several times and had spent nearly five years in between house arrest and inside the Israeli prisons; he was last released two years ago after spending 38 months in the prison.
