In pictures: Tension inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and arresting five young men
The occupation forces arrested five young Jerusalemite men from Al-Aqsa Gates amid high tension inside Al-Aqsa courtyards after groups of settlers raided the courtyards to celebrate the so-called “Shavuot” holiday. A state of high tension occurred at Al-Aqsa since the morning hours after settlers broke into the courtyards through Dung Gate and attempted to practice their religious ritual during the break-in. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that groups of settlers attempted to practice their religious ritual near Al-Silsileh Gate, Al-Rahmeh Gate and Hutta Gate, but a group of Muslim worshippers confronted them with chants of “God is Great” and prevented them from doing so with the help of Al-Aqsa guards. Twelve individuals from the Israeli Special Forces also raided Al-Aqsa under the pretext of “protecting the settlers”. While the settlers were exiting Al-Aqsa through Al-Silsileh Gate, they formed dancing circles in an attempt to provoke the Marabouts. The center was also informed that the forces arrested Mohammad Qazzaz, Rami Fakhouri, Jirah Abu Saleh, Tamer Shala’ta and Abed Da’na.
