The occupation arrests five Jerusalemites including two women from the village of Esawyeh

Clashes broke out on Friday near the southern entrance of the village of Esawyeh after the forces detained a vehicle and assaulted some of the passengers including women for no reason. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the forces established a checkpoint at the southern entrance of the village and stopped several cars. Among the vehicles stopped was a “Ford Transit” and the wife of the prisoner Anwar Jamjoom was one of the passengers. The forces detained the IDs and asked the driver to drive inside the military area near the settlement of French Hill. Witnesses said that one of the passengers (Nihaya Mheisen) asked about the reason of detaining the vehicle and she was immediately assaulted along with her son; note that she lost consciousness. Witnesses added that the Israeli forces arrested the passengers as well as the driver (Raed Dirbas) and transferred them to Salah Eddin Street police station for interrogation. Clashes broke out after the incident and three young men were injured in the limbs with rubber bullets and two others were injured with shrapnel of sound grenades.
