Ein Al-Lozeh: Clashes after the attempt to arrest a child
June 10, 2015

Clashes broke out on Wednesday night in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that violent clashes broke out in “Hosh Abu Tayeh” in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh after the occupation forces attempted to arrest one child who was walking in the street under the pretext of throwing stones; the locals managed to release him. The Center added that the occupation forces fired sound grenades towards the locals and young men who responded with throwing stones. Special Forces and a Musta’ribeen (undercover) unit then raided the neighborhood and heavily fired sound grenades and tear gas which led to the suffocation of dozens. The locals of Wadi Hilweh complained about the daily presence of occupation forces in the neighborhoods’ streets and alleys and their attempts to provoke the locals. The forces make sure to be present in the area around noon (when students get off school) and the center has monitored several cases of arresting students between the ages of 12-15 when they were on their way home.
