Sentencing a Jerusalemite…releases…extensions of arrest

Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, said that the District judge sentenced on Wednesday Basel Mahmoud from the village of Esawyeh for 4 months of actual imprisonment and a suspended probation of 7 months for three years. Releases… In a related matter, lawyer Mahmoud said that the Magistrate judge decided to release the 13-year old Tarek Mohammad on condition of house-arrest for 5 days and a third-party bail of 5 thousand NIS. The judge also decided to release Ahmad Atyeh with the same conditions mentioned above in addition to paying a 500-NIS bail; note that they were both arrested on Wednesday early morning. The lawyer added that the Magistrate judge released the child Mohammad Jaber Abbasi with a 4-thousand NIS bail, open house-arrest and a third-party bail of 10 thousand NIS; Abbasi was arrested at the beginning of June and was charged with throwing stones at a police vehicle in Silwan. Extensions of arrest… Lawyer Mahmoud also added that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of the 17-year old Khaled Basti who was arrested on Wednesday early morning until 12/6/2015 and Mutasem Abulhawa until 15/6/2015 to submit an indictment against him. The judge also extended the arrest of Mansour Mahmoud until 27/7/2015 and Ahmad Abu Shroukh until 9/9/2015 (witnesses hearing session) and the District judge extended the arrest of Sha’ban Hamed until 29/7/2015. Nadim Obeid and Ala’ Obeid were presented on Wednesday to the Magistrate judge and a session has been scheduled for them on 22/6/2015 which is when the so-called “conduct officer” will release his report; note that Ala’ is still detained while Nadim was released on condition of house-arrest. Mohammad Abu Sneineh and Mohammad Tufaha were also presented to the Magistrate judge who scheduled a session for them in mid July.
