Sentencing a Jerusalemite…extensions of arrest and releases

The Magistrate judge sentenced on Monday one Jerusalemite young man, extended the arrest of 5 others and released minors. Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained that the Magistrate judge sentenced Mohammad Tawil for 12 months of actual imprisonment, a suspended probation of 4 months for three years and a 1500-NIS fine. The lawyer added that the Magistrate judge extended the arrest of the minor Ahmad Abu Gharbyeh until 5/7/2015; note that he was arrested on Monday. The Jerusalemite Ali Obeidyeh was presented to the Magistrate judge on Monday and a session was scheduled for him on Tuesday; note that he is not detained. The judge extended the arrest of Mahmoud Hadyeh until 9/9/2015 and Rateb Haymooni until 13/7/2015. The lawyer added that the District judge approved the appeal submitted by the police against the Magistrate judge’s decision to release the 13-year old Mohammad Jaber from Beit Hanina with a bail and house-arrest conditions, and the judge extended his arrest until the beginning of July. On the other hand, Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer explained that the Magistrate judge decided to release the minors Ahmad Dab’i and Mustafa Dab’i with a 200-NIS bail, house-arrest for 5 days and a third-party bail for each. Lawyer Mahmoud also added that the District judge rejected the appeal he submitted against extending the arrest of his client Mohammad Mughrabi (17) and the judge approved the Magistrate judge’s decision to extend the arrest of Mughrabi until 2/7/2015.
