Dozens perform the Friday Noon Prayer in the neighborhood of Batn Al-Hawa in Silwan
Dozens of the locals of Silwan performed the Friday Noon Prayer at the sit-in tent established in the neighborhood of Batn Al-Hawa in Silwan in response to a call made by the neighborhood’s committee to refuse the policies and attempts of the settlement organization Ateret Cohanim which aims at seizing and taking over house in Silwan.
Sheikh Raed Da’na who gave the Prayer’s speech stressed on the importance of daily presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He said that Silwan is the southern facade of the mosque and its garrison. He called on people to participate at the sit-in tent to protect the lands and houses of Silwan.
Sheikh Mousa Odeh, member of the Committee to defend Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, said: “We will not give up a single inch of the land of Silwan and the sit-in tents in Al-Bustan and Batn Al-Hawa are all Silwan.”
On the other hand, the settlers’ guard blocked the way of one child in the neighborhood of Batn Al-Hawa on Wednesday night and randomly sprayed him and a group of young men with pepper gas; the police fired a sound grenade upon arrival to the area.
The Center’s staff was also informed that one young man was injured in his hand by shrapnel of the sound grenade.
