The occupation releases two children from the village of Esawyeh
September 9, 2015

The occupation police released on late Wednesday night two children from the village of Esawyeh after arresting and detaining them for 31 hours. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the police released the 12-year old Salah Yehya Ayoubi and the 12-year old Rami Mahmoud Rabee’ from Al-Maskobyeh police center after delaying their release since they were supposed to be released at 8 p.m. The center explained that the children’s families stayed outside Al-Maskobyeh waiting for their children and the police deliberately delayed their release despite the presence of an order by the judge specifying the time of release (8 p.m.). An “urgent session” was held on Wednesday morning to discuss the decision made by the Chief of Police in Jerusalem to extend the arrest of the two children and the judge decided to extend their arrest until 8 p.m. and to release them afterwards with a 2000-NIS bail and house-arrest until next Sunday for each in addition to presenting them to the so-called “conduct officer”. The police accused the children of throwing stones at settlers’ vehicles passing through the street leading to Maale Adomim settlement and the police admitted that the stones did not cause any material damage or injuries.
