Violent clashes at Al-Aqsa Mosque
Violent clashes broke out on Sunday morning at Al-Aqsa Mosque after the occupation’s Special Forces raided the Mosque on the eve of “Jewish New Year”.

Witnesses informed Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the occupation forces raided Al-Aqsa Mosque through Al-Silsileh and Dung Gates after the Dawn Prayer finished and while worshippers (mostly elderly) were present in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The forces randomly fired sound grenades and rubber bullets into the courtyards.
Witnesses added that violent clashes broke out in the courtyards between the forces and Marabouts.
Closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque…
The witnesses pointed out that the forces closed Al-Qibali Mosque with chains and surrounded the young men inside it while going onto its roof; they heavily sprayed pepper gas and rubber bullets inside the Mosque.
Assaulting the employees of the Islamic Awqaf Department…
The occupation forces were deployed in Al-Aqsa courtyards and assaulted everybody present in the courtyards (employees of the Islamic Awqaf and the elderly) and pushed them away using forces from the courtyards of Al-Qibali and Al-Marwani Mosques. They also pushed and assaulted the director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Omar Kiswani.
Al-Aqsa guards said that the forces also assaulted them and made them leave through Al-Silsileh, Al-Majles and Hutta Gates and prevented them from being inside the Mosque to carry out their duties, and secured the settlers’ break-ins.
Minister of Agriculture breaks into Al-Aqsa…
The Israeli Minister of Agriculture, Uri Ariel, raided the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque through Dung Gate along with his guards and a group of Special Forces; several settlers also accompanied him during his tour.
Witnesses explained that Uri Ariel practiced his religious rituals near Al-Rahmeh Gate inside Al-Aqsa under heavy protection by the occupation forces.
Dawn Prayer at Al-Aqsa Gates…
In a related matter, the occupation police prevented dozens of Palestinians from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque o perform the Dawn Prayer. The prevention included all women and young men while men over the age of 50 were allowed to enter.
