In pictures: The occupation raids Al-Aqsa Mosque using “armored gear”
Clashes broke out on Monday morning at Al-Aqsa Mosque after dozens of occupation forces raided Al-Aqsa courtyards to secure the settlers’ break-ins during “Sukkot” holiday. For the first time and in a serious development, a group of Special Forces raided Al-Aqsa through Dung Gate and had armored gear. They were stationed near the funeral’s chapel and used light digging tools to cut the windows of Al-Qibali Mosque from the eastern side at the same time when snipers were being stationed on the roof of Al-Qibali Mosque in an attempt to control the young men staying inside the Mosque. Witnesses added that he Special Forces raided Al-Aqsa through Dung Gate and heavily fired sound grenades and rubber bullets in the courtyards to disperse the worshippers (elderly) and empty the courtyards while closing the gates of Al-Qibali Mosque with poles and iron chains. Witnesses added that a group of women and men were injured with bruises after being assaulted with batons and also suffocated due to random spraying of pepper gas in the courtyards. The occupation forces had imposed tight restrictions on the entrance of worshippers to Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevented men under the age of 40 from entering. Around 7 a.m. they prevented all Muslims from entering including students of Al-Aqsa schools. The occupation forces fire sound grenades and rubber bullets every now and then towards the young men surrounded inside Al-Qibali Mosque also spray pepper gas towards them.
