In pictures: A critical injury by live ammunition…violent clashes in Shu’fat
A Jerusalemite young man was injured by live ammunition in his chest during the violent clashes in the neighborhood of Beit Hanina north of Jerusalem; dozens others were injured with rubber bullets and shrapnel of sound and tear-gas grenades. The neighborhoods of Shu’fat and Beit Hanina north of Jerusalem, Ras Al-Amoud in Silwan, Shu’fat refugee camp and Anata witnesses clashes between the occupation forces and the young men angry about the continuous siege on Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque and in support of the two Martyrs Fadi Alloun and Mohannad Halabi. The neighborhood of Shu’fat witnessed the most violent clashes and the forces fired rubber bullets towards the residential houses and tear-gas towards the neighborhood’s cemetery; they also raided the alleys of the neighborhood. The center was informed that young men threw Molotov Cocktails towards the settlement outpost “Bet Yonatan” in Silwan. The forces also used live ammunition in Silwan and young men threw Molotov Cocktails towards the settlers’ vehicles. Clashes also broke out in the neighborhoods of Ras Al-Amoud and “Bilal” in Al-Shayah in Silwan. The forces also ascended to the roof of Khalil Abbasi’s houses in Silwan and fired sound grenades towards the main street. In Al-Tur, clashes broke out between the occupation forces and young men who threw a Molotov Cocktail towards a military vehicle. Injuries… Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that one young man was injured with live ammunition in his chest and suffered a severe bleeding in Beit Hanina and was transferred to Al-Maqased hospital where he underwent a surgery. The center was informed that Special Forces were stationed at the gates of Al-Maqased hospital after the injured young man arrived. Dr. Amin Abu Ghazaleh, head of paramedics and emergency at the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC), explained that 30-35 people were injured with rubber bullets in Shu’fat and were treated on the spot. One injury in genitals was transferred to the hospital, and 23 people were injured in Shu’fat refugee camp and Anata in which three injuries were transferred to Ramallah hospital. He added that 12 people were injured during clashes in the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud in Silwan. Detaining an ambulance and its staff… Dr. Abu Ghazaleh explained that the forces detained an ambulance of the PRC and its staff for nearly half an hour in the neighborhood of Shu’fat and the forces pointed their guns towards the staff and also took the ambulance’s keys. They searched the ambulance looking for injured people. The police have arrested injured people from inside ambulances in the last few days. Arrests… The occupation forces arrested Ibrahim Natsheh and Mutasem Maswadeh from the neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh in Silwan. They also arrested two young men from Shu’fat including Ahmad Idais, and arrested Mohammad Tufaha and Rami Fakhouri and handed him an order of isolation from Al-Aqsa Mosque for 6 months.
