An appeal to release the bodies of Alloun and Halabi
Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, submitted on Thursday morning an appeal to the public prosecution requesting to release the bodies of the 19-year old Martyr Fadi Samir Alloun and 20-year old Martyr Mohannad Shafiq Halabi. The lawyer explained that he submitted an appeal to the public prosecution to release the Martyrs’ bodies after the Israeli authorities refused to release them in the past few days. He pointed out that he submitted a copy of the appeal to the attorney general of the Israeli government and another copy to the intelligence. The lawyer confirmed in the appeal that detaining the Martyrs’ bodies and refusing to release them to their families to bury them is undemocratic and unethical and a reprisal procedure from their families which only increases tension in the area. The occupation authorities continue to detain the body of Halabi since last Saturday night after he carried out a stabbing attack against settlers in the Old City of Jerusalem. They are also detaining the body of the Martyr Alloun since last Sunday’s early morning after he was shot by the Israeli police when attempting to run away from settlers who were attacking him in the area of Al-Musrara; the police claim that he stabbed a settler.
