Arrests…extensions of arrest…releases…and dismissal of charges

The occupation Special Forces arrested on Wednesday the 15-year old Fayez Fawaz Burqan after raiding a grocery store in the neighborhood of Al-Thori in Silwan. Witnesses said that Special Forces personnel arrested the child Burqan after severely beating him inside the grocery store. He was pushed to the ground and then searched and assaulted outside the store. Witnesses also said that the forces assaulted his father when he tried to find out why his son is being arrested. Also, Mahmoud Shweiki, owner of the store, was assaulted. On the other hand, the police arrested on Wednesday the 13-year old Dia’ Naser and the 15-year old Qusai Dari from the village of Esawyeh (they were released without conditions) according to Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer. The forces also arrested Mohammad Baydoun on Wednesday night from Al-Wad in the Old City of Jerusalem, and arrested Murad Ashhab in the afternoon hours. The forces also arrested three merchants from Al-Wad Street; Nour Abu Sbeih, Omar Sidawi and Nasim Arrar. The center was informed that the occupation forces arrested the 42-year old Mohammad Abdel Hafeth Suleiman from Beit Hanina. On Tuesday, Salam Najjar was arrested from the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud in Silwan. The lawyer added that the judge extended the arrest of Ibrahim Abu Ta’a until 11/10/2015; note that he was arrested from Shu’fat and was severely beaten and suffered fractures in his hand. The District judge decided to extend the arrest of Tawfiq Shweiki until 21/10/2015, Ali Mahmoud and Mohammad Abbasi and Shadi Alayan until 9/11/2015, Baha’ Sumrein and Tamer Obeidi until 8/10/2015, and Anas Abu Sneineh until 14/10/2015. A session was held for Isam Anati, a prosecution’s session to appeal the 5-month prison sentence against him, and the judge postponed the decision until 14/10/2015. The Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Ahmad Idais, Karim Abu Khdeir and Abdel Naser Odeh until 9/10/2015, Tamer Obeid until 7/201/2015, Mohammad Mustafa and Fadi Atyeh until 17/11/2015, Baha’ Sumrein and Mohammad Burqan until 8/10/2015; note that Burqan was injured with a rubber bullet in his eye. A session was held for the child Mohammad Jaber Abbasi and the judge extended his arrest until 6/1/2016. The judge decided to release Abdel Hakim Abu Khdeir with a 500-NIS bail and house-arrest for 5 days, and Jihad Obeid and Waed Qatmeirji with a third-party bail. Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer explained that he reached a deal to sentence the child Mouayad Abu Mayaleh for 10 months of actual imprisonment, and a session was schedule on 30/11/2015 to confirm the sentence. The judge also extended the arrest of Fayez Sarhan, Ahmad Naser and Ahmad Shallodi until 8/10/2015, and Mohammad Tufaha until 9/10/2015, Mohammad Abu Diab and Ahmad until 13/10/2015, Mu’nes Idkeidek and Hussein Sub Laban until 8/10/2015. The judge decided to release Omar Za’aneen with a 1500-NIS bail and house-arrest for 5 days.
