Funeral of the Martyr Wisam Al-Mansi
Thousands of Palestinians participated on Thursday night in the funeral of the 20-year old Martyr Wisam Jamal Faraj Al-Mansi who passed away after he was shot in the heart during clashes that broke out in Shu’fat refugee camp. After the young man was injured and was announced a Martyr afterwards, his body was transferred from Ramallah to his house in Shu’fat refugee camp where family and friends took the last look on him and amid screams of anger and shots fired. The funeral then started from the house towards the cemetery of Anata village. The 20-year old Wisam was injured in his heart and dozens others were injured with live and rubber bullets during violent clashes that broke out in Shu’fat refugee camp. Armed clashes also broke out in the cam between dozens of young men and occupation forces that raided the camp with the help of a helicopter to raid the house of Subhi Abu Khalifeh who is accused of carrying out a stabbing attack near the light rail station in Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem. Thaer Fasfoos, spokesman of Fateh movement in Shu’fat refugee camp, explained that violent clashes broke out in the camp in which the Israeli forces used live and rubber bullets and “Dumdum” bullets in addition to tear-gas and sound grenades. During the clashes, nearly 50 people were injured; some in critical condition. He added that the armed clashes occurred when the forces attempted to raid the house of Abu Khalifeh. At the beginning, the forces were unable to reach and raid the house, but stayed only for few minutes once they reached the house. He added that the occupation forces raided several house and ascended on the roofs of neighboring houses. During the raid and violent clashes, 12 Israeli soldiers were injured. Abu Khalifeh’s mother explained that the forces fired a tear-gas grenade during the raid on the family’s house.
