The occupation forces arrested on Friday 10 Jerusalemites amid a complete siege on the city and Al-Aqsa Mosque. Friday Prayer in the streets…Prayer on asphalt Hundreds of Palestinians performed the Friday Prayer in the streets of the city and the Old City of Jerusalem after men under the age of 50 were prevented from entering Al-Aqsa. Friday Noon Prayer was held in the areas of Damascus Gate, Wadi Al-Joz, Lions Gate, Ras Al-Amoud, Herod’s Gate and Dung Gate. Dozens of Special Forces, Cavalry Units, police, borders police and intelligence personnel were present in the streets and a surveillance balloon was launched in the sky of Jerusalem to monitor the movement of Palestinians. A siege on Al-Aqsa Mosque The occupation police closed Al-Aqsa Gates except for Lions, Hutta, Al-Silsileh, Al-Majles and Al-Mathara gates and established iron barriers on the open gates. They checked IDs of worshippers and obstructed the entrance of females and searched their bags. The forces also deliberately checked the IDs of most men even though all those who were able to reach Al-Aqsa gates were above 50 years of age and were searched at the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem. Arrests The occupation forces arrested two young men from the area of Damascus Gate and neighborhood of Wadi Al-Joz. Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the occupation forces arrested a group of Jerusalemites on Thursday night and Friday morning including Abed Walid Salaymeh, Louai Za’tari and Mohammad Jarjoor (15) from the Old City of Jerusalem, Issa Ja’bari from Damascus Gate, Ali Sabra from Sur Baher and Tamer Abu Asab from Beit Hanina. The forces also arrested Abdullah Shallodi, brother of Martyr Abdulrahman Shallodi, and assaulted him under the pretext of “intent to carry out an attack”. A stabbing incident in Jerusalem The occupation forces arrested a Jerusalemite young man in the area of Sheikh Jarrah (Street Number 1) under the pretext of stabbing a settler Clashes Clashes broke out in the villages of Esawyeh and Jabal Al-Mukabber and in Shu’fat refugee camp in which the occupation forces heavily fired tear-gas grenades while attempting to raid the funeral tent of Martyr Wisam Mansi in the camp.
