In pictures: The Martyrdom of Mohammad Mohammad Ali and the injury of 18 Jerusalemites in the area of Damascus Gate
The Palestinians young man Mohammad Saeed Mohammad Ali from Shu’fat refugee camp passed away on Saturday afternoon after being shot by the occupation forces under the pretext of carrying out a stabbing attack in the area of Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.
Witnesses explained that the occupation forces heavily fired bullets towards a young Palestinian man and critically injured him and minutes later he passed away. The forces also randomly fired rubber bullets towards the citizens including women, elderly and journalists.
The forces assaulted Eyad Abu Asab and injured several citizens with rubber bullets and shrapnel of sound grenades and batons.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s staff explained that the forces prevented Jerusalemites from entering or exiting the Old City of Jerusalem especially near the area of the incident- Damascus Gate.
The police said that the young man stabbed two Special Forces personnel after they asked him to show them his ID. When the soldiers were checking his ID, he stabbed two of them and the police stationed in the area immediately shot and killed him; one other policeman suffered critical injuries.
Storming into Al-Maqased and Augusta Victoria hospitals
The occupation forces stormed into Augusta Victoria and Al-Maqased hospitals in the village of Al-Tur in Jerusalem and searched the departments for injured people.
The forces searched the ambulance and private vehicles inside Al-Maqased hospital before entering and after leaving the hospital’s departments.
Injuries
Dr. Amin Abu Ghazaleh, head of emergency and paramedics department in the Palestinian Red Crescent, explained that 18 people were injured with rubber bullets in the area of Damascus Gate in Jerusalem after the Martyrdom of Mohammad Ali.
Dr. Abu Ghazaleh added that the injuries mostly occurred in the head, chest and limbs.
