The conditional release of Jawad Siam

The occupation police released on Saturday noon the director of Wadi Hilweh Information Center-Silwan, Jawad Siam, after arresting and interrogating him on charges of “inciting children and obstructing police work”. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the Israeli police at Salah Eddin Street police station release Jawad Siam with a 1000-NIS bail and a third-party bail of 5 thousand NIS as well as preventing him from approaching Ras Al-Amoud checkpoint for 15 days. Siam explained that the occupation forces arrested him on Saturday morning near Ras Al-Amoud checkpoint in Silwan while monitoring the people’s suffering at the established checkpoint for the past two weeks. One officer claimed that Siam obstructed police work while taking pictures and also incited students to chant slogans at the checkpoint. Siam denied the charged against him and confirmed during the interrogation that strike was held in the schools of Silwan to condemn the checkpoints and cement blocks placed in the village and on its entrances; student were not even present at the checkpoint during the arrest. Siam explained that the police deleted the pictures he took to Ras Al-Amoud checkpoint before releasing him.
