The occupation arrests two children from Silwan
November 3, 2015

The occupation police released two Jerusalemite children after arresting and interrogating them on charges of throwing stones. The two children are the 8-year old Amir Mohammad Abbasi and the 8-year old Mohammad Abdullah Shweiki. The children’s families explained that that the occupation forces arrested their children while they were coming back home in Silwan. The soldiers chased and arrested them and fired sound grenades towards the locals who attempted to protect the children. The interrogator at O’z police center tried to extend the arrest of the children and threatened to detain them until they are presented to the Magistrate court tomorrow morning; the Israeli law prohibits arresting any child under 12 years old “age of responsibility” under any circumstances. The lawyer intervened and made the necessary calls and headed towards the police center where the two children were released on condition of attending interrogation tomorrow morning.
