Silwan: An administrative demolition order to Al-Qa’qa’ Mosque in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh
The occupation municipality’s crews hung an administrative demolition order on Al-Qa’qa’ Mosque and another commercial establishment in Silwan south of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the municipality employees hung an administrative demolition order on Al-Qa’qa’ Mosque located in “Hosh” Abu Tayeh in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan under the pretext of building without a permit. Another demolition order was hung on a car wash in Bi’er Ayoub in Silwan and pictures were taken for several commercial and residential establishments as well as the entrances of neighborhoods and streets. The personal responsible for the mosque, Hani Abu Tayeh, explained that the municipality crews hung a demolition order on the 120-square meters mosque that has been established for three years under the pretext of building without a permit. He also pointed out that the mosque is built from bricks and has a men’s chapel, a place for ablution and a restroom; the mosque serves the locals of the area (nearly 5 thousand people). According to the order, the order was issue on 20/8/2015 and the demolition will be executed within 30-90 days which means that the demolition order hung on Tuesday is final and the demolition process will take place in the next few days. The demolition order is based on “law 212” which is used by the municipality and prosecution to execute demolition orders. This law allows the prosecution to issue a demolition order against a building that has been established without a permit even if the owner is unknown.
