The occupation raids a medical center in the village of Esawyeh

In a new violation against medical institutions, the occupation forces raided “Baladna” medical center in the village of Esawyeh. Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, explained that Special Forces personnel raided Baladna medical center looking for files of people injured during clashes in the village; they checked the patients’ files. Abu Hummos added that the director of the medical center, Mahmoud Shami, confirmed to the occupation forces that the medical staff provides medical services to injured people without taking their personal information. They handed him a call for interrogation; he pointed out that the forces had an order from the Israeli court to raid the center. Abu Hummos denounced the Israeli violation against medical institutions in Jerusalem and considered it a dangerous escalation and a new violation against patients and doctors. He said: “Israeli is targeting anything that is Palestinian inside Jerusalem and does not exclude medical of educational institutions. Today they raided a medical center and messed with the patients’ files and violated their privacy. They also violated the right of doctors creating a state of fear among the patients inside the center. Abu Hummos appealed for the international institutions and “Doctor without borders” organization to stop the Israeli unprecedented attack against Jerusalemites especially in the village of Esawyeh under the pretext of “safety and security”. He also pointed out that the forces arrested Amir Khaldoun Mustafa after they exited the medical center and randomly fired tear gas canisters and rubber bullets in the area. Abu Hummos mentioned that a group of international and Israeli activists visited on Tuesday the village of Esawyeh to check the current situation in the village due to the daily closures and raids. Ms. Nihaya Mheisen explained to them what she suffers from because of the recurring raids on her house in the village to execute arrests.
