One sentenced for 16 years…sentencing three Jerusalemites

The District and Magistrate judges sentenced three Jerusalemites for actual imprisonment for periods between 12 months and 16 years. Mousa Mohammad Ja’ooni…actual imprisonment for 16 years Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the District judge sentenced the 20-year old Mousa Mohammad Ja’ooni for 16 years of actual imprisonment after convicting him of attempting to kill two Israeli soldiers in the Old City of Jerusalem at the end of last year; soldiers were wounded after being stabbed by a knife in the area of Lions’ Gate. The occupation authorities had kidnapped Mousa on 2/1/2015 after raiding the city of Ramallah when he was staying in an apartment. He was transferred to Al-Maskobyeh for interrogation and was transferred in between several prisons; he is currently imprisoned in Jalboo’ prison and is a resident of the Old City of Jerusalem. Isam Anwar Jamal Abu Gharbyeh…actual imprisonment for 5 and half years The District judge also sentenced the 19-year old Jerusalemite Isam Anwar Jamal Abu Gharbyeh for 66 months of actual imprisonment (5 and half years). Isam was arrested on 15/1/2015 and was transferred in between several prison; he is currently imprisoned in Jalboo’ prison. Mustafa Siam…actual imprisonment for one year The Magistrate judge sentenced the 27-year old Mustafa Siam for one year of actual imprisonment after convicting him of three charges: “assaulting a settler, assaulting a police officer in Al-Qishleh police station and assaulting an employee of the occupation’s municipality while issuing traffic tickets.” Mustafa explained that he was arrested in 2011 and 2012 in reference to the above mentioned charges and was released on financial bail. Several sessions were previously held and he was sentence don Wednesday. Mustafa added that he will turn himself in to serve the prison sentence at the beginning of next may.
