The occupation arrests a child on charges of “possession of a knife”
November 13, 2015

The occupation forces arrested on Friday the 13-year old Mohammad Mustafa Murqusto from the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem after assaulting and severely beating him. The child’s father explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that the occupation forces arrested Mohammad while walking the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah on charges of “possession of a knife” and assaulted and severely beat him; Mohammad suffered several bruises and wounds. The child’s father also added: “The police requested me to go to Al-Qishleh police center for interrogation without informing me about the reason. On arrival to Al-Qishleh, the police told me that my son is at Al-Maskobyeh police center in West Jerusalem.” He continued: “After waiting for two hours outside Al-Maskobyeh, they allowed me to enter and signs of fatigue were clear on Mohammad; he was also bruised and was bleeding from his face and his neck was red. The police refused to let me check on Mohammad or talk to him. When asking about the reason of the assault, one of them said your son should be in Abu Kbeir Institution and not detained (in a clear threat to kill him); he had a knife with him.” Mohammad’s father also explained that Mohammad was interrogated alone for several hours and the occupation forces claim that Mohammad had a knife with him in a bag and was planning to carry out a stabbing attack but Mohammad denied their claims. The father pointed out that the interrogator attempted to provoke Mohammad by insulting him and frequently asking him the same questions and long interrogation.
