An indictment against the child “Alqam”…arrests…and a decision to release a woman from Silwan
The public prosecution submitted on Thursday an indictment against the 14-year old Mouawya Ahmad Ali Alqam including charges of attempting to “carry out a stabbing attack and possession of a knife” inside the light rail in the settlement of Pisgat Zi’ev with the participation of his 11-year old cousin Ali Alqam who is currently detained inside the hospital where he is receiving treatment. The prosecution requested to extend the arrest of Mouawya until completing the legal procedures against him. Targeting, assaulting and arresting On the other hand, the occupation police extended the arrest of two minors from the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber that were arrested after leaving their schools in the village. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the police extended the arrest of 15-year old Mahmoud Ahmad Zahaykeh and 15-year old Malek Mohammad Shkeirat until Friday. According to witnesses, the occupation forces arrested the two students after they left school and under the pretext of throwing stones. The soldiers chased the students in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber and fired rubber bullets towards them. The occupation forces targeted Zahaykeh and Shkeirat with rubber bullets before arresting them, and also assaulted them and forced Shkeirat to take off his shirt and pants during the arrest. Prison sentence The Magistrate judge sentenced on Thursday Mansour Mohammad for 18-months of actual imprisonment, a suspended probation of 4 months for three years and a 5-thousand NIS fine. The judge also sentenced Ali Obeid for three months of public service, a 4800-NIS fine and a suspended probation of 5 months for three years. A decision to release a woman Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud added that the Magistrate judge decided to release Shifa’ Obeid with a 10-thousand NIS bail and open house-arrest but the prosecution requested to freeze the decision until appealing it. Extension of arrest In a related matter, the District judge extended the arrest of the two minors Ziad Ja’bari and Baker Aweis until 29/11/2015, Mohammad Naser until 3/12/2015, Subhi Abu Khalifeh until 11/1/2016 and Naeem Abu Sara until 7/1/2016. The Magistrate judge extended the arrest of Odai Da’ajneh and Ahmad Adawein until 23/11/2015 and Adham Obeidat until 21/11/2015 to submit an indictment against him. The judge also extended the arrest of Taher Sarhan and Anas Abu Mayaleh until 23/11/2015, Abdel Karim Abu Khdeir until 20/11/2015, Ahmad Idais until 8/12/2015, Mohammad Ammouri until 3/12/2015, Murad Sarandah until 7/12/2015 for sentencing, Nabil Mustafa until 27/12/2015 and Baha’ Sumrein until 26/12/2015. He also extended the arrest of Mohammad Tufaha until completing the legal procedures against him, and Ahmad Shallodi, Ahmad Rajabi, Mohammad Odeh and Mohammad Shallodi until 20/1/2016. Releases The judge decided to release Nour Zaghal with a 1000-NIS bail, house-arrest for 5 days and a third-party bail of 5 thousand NIS. The police also decided to release the child Mustafa Ibrahim Abu Sneineh. The police released on Wednesday the child Ahmad Abu Sbitan with a 1000-NIS bail, and 12-year old Majd Abu Asab and 12-year old Rami Kamel Ghazaleh on condition of house-arrest for 7 days, a 500-NIS bail and a third-party bail for each.
