Transferring the child “Ali Alqam” to a closed institute
The occupation authorities transferred on Sunday night the 11-year old Ali Ehab Alqam to a closed institute on condition of not being contacted or visited by his family. The child’s father explained that his son was transferred on Sunday night from Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital to a closed institute in the 1948 lands under the supervision of Israeli police and office of social affairs after staying in the hospital for 12 days following an injury he suffered after being shot by the light rails guard in the settlement of Pisgat Zi’ev along with his 14-year old cousin Mouawya. He also explained that the social affairs office informed him that he won’t be able to visit or call his son for at least one month; the duration in which Ali will stay at the institute was still undecided. He added that he went back to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital and signed documents regarding Ali’s leaving with the social affairs office to the closed institute; note that Ali still requires treatment at the hospital and took the necessary medications with him. He also added that he can’t walk by himself and needs help or a wheelchair because one of the bullets went through his pelvis and he recently underwent a surgery. He also underwent another surgery in the intestines and was stitched; he is still receiving treatment and requires further follow-up. Ali’s father also mentioned that he was able to visit his son on Friday for 20 minutes inside the room allocated for Ali and in the presence of police personnel; the police banned him from brining clothes and other items to Ali during the visit. The forces arrested Ali last Tuesday (10/11/2015) after he was shot by the light rail’s guard under the pretext of carrying out a stabbing attack with his cousin Mouawya; the child was injured with three bullets and was in critical condition.
