January 6, 2016

Occupation forces raided the headquarters of the Red Cross in Jerusalem on Wednesday early morning and arrested two young men. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the forces raided the Red Cross headquarters in the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah in Jerusalem and arrested Samer Abu Eisheh and Hijazi Abu Sbeih who have been on a strike inside the Red Cross premises for 12 days in refusal to being deported from the city of Jerusalem. Amjad Abu Asab, head of Jerusalemites detainees and prisoners families committee, explained that the forces arrested four young men that were inside the Red Cross headquarters and released two of them after two hours of interrogation while Hijazi and Abu Eisheh remained under arrest and interrogation. The occupation authorities had issued last month military orders to deport both young men from the city of Jerusalem (Samer for 5 months and Hijazi for 6 months) based on the emergency law; they decided to strike inside the Red Cross headquarters in refusal to the military orders.
