Demolishing residential and commercial establishments in Silwan and Beit Safafa
The occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished on Thursday morning commercial and residential establishments in the villages of Beit Safafa and Silwan in Jerusalem.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the occupation’s bulldozers along with Israeli forces raided the villages of Silwan and Beit Safafa and closed the roads leading to them.
The center was also informed that the occupation’s bulldozers demolished an under-construction apartment in the neighborhood of Ein Al-Lozeh in Silwan owned by Nadia Abu Diab.
Diab explained that the municipality demolished her under-construction 130-square meters apartment without prior notice. She added that she started building last September and was forced to stop after a demolition order was issued; she attempted to obtain a building permit.
Demolishing an under-construction building
The occupation’s bulldozers also demolished an under-construction residential building owned by Diab family in the neighborhood of Karm Al-Sheikh in Silwan.
Demolishing parts of a restaurant
The occupation municipality also demolished parts of the “Mediterranean Restaurant” in the village of Beit Safafa south of Jerusalem.
Emad Burqan, owner of the restaurant, explained that a 144-square meters addition was added to the building three months ago which cost him nearly 400 thousand NIS; it was demolished today.
