January 10, 2016

The occupation police released on Saturday night two children from the village of Esawyeh after detaining and interrogating them for several hours. Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the Israeli forces arrested 8-year old Majd Aziz Obeid and 10-year old Ahmad Bader from the village of Esawyeh and transferred them to Salah Eddin Street police station in Jerusalem. Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, explained that the forces arrested the two children while walking in the streets of the village; they were released after being detained for 4 hours (detention and interrogation) and the police conditioned them to attend an interrogation on Sunday morning. Abu Hummos added that Obeid was accompanied with his aunt to the medical center after injuring his hand at his house; an Israeli force arrested him for no reason and also arrested Ahmad while walking in the same area and hit him on his nose. During detention at Al-Maskobyeh police center, several members of the children’s families protested in front of the police station holding items for their children to condemn their arrest.
