Esawyeh: Arrests…issuing fines for merchants
The occupation authorities arrested on Tuesday three children from the village of Esawyeh and Silwan while joint crews of Special Forces, police, municipality and tax authority raided the village of Esawyeh. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the occupation forces arrested 16-year old Mufeed Abu Khaled and 17-year old Louai Abu Hummos from the village of Esawyeh and 17-year old Tawfiq Othman from Silwan. On the other hand, the member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh Mohammad Abu Hummos explained that occupation forces along with municipality and tax authority employees raided the village and were deployed into its streets. They issued fine for three merchants (one of them is a peddler selling across from schools). They also issued an 1100-NIS fine for the merchant Wael Obeid and raided the surrounding of Al-Salam Park and hung a notice to stop working in the park. Abu Hummos explained that raided the village of Esawyeh and issuing fines became a daily procedure that aims at harassing and provoking residents and merchants. He appealed for Human Rights Organizations to visit the village and take a closer look on the daily life conditions experienced by the population.
