Sentencing a young man…arrests…raiding the village of Esawyeh
The District judge sentenced the 20-year old prisoner Basel Ribhi Shweiki for 40 months of actual imprisonment and a 5-thousand NIS fine.
On the other hand, the occupation forces arrested on Sunday night 17-year old Tawfiq Othman from Silwan and the judge extended the arrest of 28-year old Mohammad Jo’beh and Mohammad Hussein Abbasi until Tuesday; they were arrested on Sunday early morning after raiding their homes in Silwan.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the occupation police released on Sunday afternoon 14-year old Mohammad Eyad Ismaeel Salhab and his 16-year old brother Thaer; they were also arrested on Sunday early morning from the neighborhood of Al-Thori in Silwan.
The forces also arrested a woman from the area of Damascus Gate after searched and assaulting her, and arrested two minors from the neighborhood of Shu’fat under the pretext of throwing stones. The forces also arrested Nidal Bazlameet from Al-Thori in Silwan and Shadi Ghurab.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the judge extended the arrest of the child Mohammad Burqan, Mohammad Ghrouf and Hamada Hareez until completing the legal procedures against them. The District judge extended the arrest of the minors Mohammad Yaghmour and Omar Burqan until 7/3/2016 and Abed Abu Khatee until 28/2/2016.
The judge decided to release the child Fathi Dweik with a 5-thousand NIS bail and a third-party bail of 10 thousand NIS in addition to house-arrest but the decision was appealed in the District court but the District judge refused the appeal and released the child with a 10-thousand NIS bail in addition to the above mentioned conditions.
The judge also extended the arrest of Mahmoud Abu Aweis and Fahed Shalabi until 22/2/2016, and Abdullah Joulani and Ahmad Aweisat until 8/3/2016.
Raiding the village of Esawyeh
On the other hand, Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, explained that joint crews of Nature and Parks authority and municipality as well as Israeli police raided on Sunday the village of Esawyeh and carried out a tour into the lands and farms that were swept last week; they took pictures of the area.
Abu Hummos pointed out that the lands are at risk of being confiscated in favor of the so-called “National Parks” project.
